Jeffrey Feltman is the John C. Whitehead Visiting Fellow in International Diplomacy at the Brookings Institution and a Senior Fellow at the United Nations Foundation.  From 2012 until 2018, he served as United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs.  Previously a career U.S. foreign service officer, his final assignment at the State Department was Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs from 2009 until 2012.
